Fearless in Times of Trouble: Trusting the LORD Wholeheartedly

(A reflection on Proverbs 3:25–26)

“Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the LORD will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.”

Trouble Will Come — But Fear Doesn’t Have To

Life doesn’t always give warnings. Sometimes, fear comes out of nowhere—an unexpected situation, a harsh word, an evil plan unfolding when we least expect it. But Proverbs 3:25–26 doesn’t say, “If trouble comes.” It says “when it comes.” In other words, we will face trouble, but we’re not called to fear it.

GOD doesn’t promise a storm-free life. But HE promises us a fear-free heart, no matter what comes our way.

The Source of Our Courage

Fear is natural—but so is faith when you're rooted in GOD. This verse gives a powerful reason not to fear:

“For the LORD will be your confidence.”

We’re not expected to stand strong on our own. Our strength doesn’t come from our personality, position, or planning. It comes from knowing WHO is standing with us.

When the LORD is your confidence, fear has no foothold.

You don't need to figure everything out. You don’t need to control everything. You just need to rest in the fact that your GOD is still on the throne.

A Foot That Doesn’t Slip

The second part of the verse says:

“He will keep your foot from being caught.”

This is GOD’s protective promise.

In a world full of traps, deceit, and sudden danger, GOD promises to secure your steps. Whether it’s the schemes of the wicked or the unknown curves in life, GOD watches over HIS children. Nothing catches HIM off guard, and no trap can overpower HIS hand.

Even when others fall, even when chaos surrounds, those who trust in the LORD will walk forward surefooted and steady.

A Word for Today’s Believer

This message is more relevant than ever. Evil is becoming bolder, and fear is gripping hearts all around. But as followers of JESUS, we are called to stand out—not by shouting louder, but by resting deeper.

In every storm, let people find in you a stillness they can’t explain.

Let your peace in the middle of panic become a testimony that the LORD is your confidence.

Let your steady walk become a message:

“I don’t trust the world’s systems—I trust the LIVING GOD.”

You may not know what’s coming tomorrow. But you do know WHO walks with you.

And that’s enough.

So do not fear.

Not sudden bad news.

Not the schemes of evil.

Not the days ahead.

Because the LORD is your confidence. And HE will not let you fall.

संकट तो आएगा — पर डर नहीं आना चाहिए

जीवन हमेशा पहले से चेतावनी नहीं देता। कई बार डर अचानक सामने आ खड़ा होता है — कोई अप्रत्याशित खबर, कोई कठोर परिस्थिति, या कोई दुष्ट योजना जो बिना किसी संकेत के सामने आ जाए।

लेकिन नीतिवचन 3:25–26 यह नहीं कहता कि "यदि संकट आए।"

यह कहता है, "जब संकट आए।"

अर्थात्, संकट निश्चित रूप से आएगा — लेकिन हमें उससे डरना नहीं है।

परमेश्वर ने यह वादा नहीं किया कि जीवन तूफ़ानों से रहित होगा,

पर उन्‍होंने यह अवश्य कहा कि तूफ़ानों के बीच डर रहित मन संभव है।

हमारे साहस का असली स्रोत

डर आना स्वाभाविक है, लेकिन विश्वास भी उतना ही स्वाभाविक होता है — यदि हमारी जड़ें परमेश्वर में गहरी हैं।

इस पद में डर से न डरने का कारण भी है:

"क्योंकि परमेश्वर तेरा भरोसा होगा।"

हमसे यह अपेक्षा नहीं की गई कि हम अपने बल पर डटे रहें।

हमारी ताकत हमारी शिक्षा, ओहदे या योजनाओं से नहीं आती —

वो आती है इस सच्चाई से कि परमेश्वर हमारे साथ हैं।

जब परमेश्वर आपका भरोसा बन जाता है, तो डर का कोई स्थान नहीं बचता।

अब आपको हर बात का हल खुद ढूंढ़ने की ज़रूरत नहीं।

हर परिस्थिति को काबू में करने की कोशिश नहीं करनी।

बस इस बात में विश्राम करना है —

कि आपका परमेश्वर अब भी सिंहासन पर विराजमान है।

फंदे से बचा हुआ पाँव

पद का दूसरा भाग कहता है:

"वह तेरे पाँव को फंदे में फंसने न देगा।"

यह परमेश्वर का रक्षण का वादा है।

एक ऐसे संसार में जहाँ धोखा, चालाकी और अचानक संकट आम बात हो,

परमेश्वर अपने लोगों के कदमों की सुरक्षा करते हैं।

ना कोई फंदा इतना मजबूत है कि उसे परमेश्वर की योजना से हटा दे,

ना कोई चाल इतनी गहरी है कि वो आपको नीचे गिरा सके।

जब दूसरे लोग लड़खड़ाते हैं,

जब चारों ओर भ्रम और घबराहट होती है,

परमेश्वर में विश्वास रखने वाला व्यक्ति स्थिर और संतुलित बना रहता है।

आज के विश्वासियों के लिए एक सीधी बात

यह सन्देश आज पहले से कहीं ज़्यादा जरूरी है।

दुष्टता खुलकर काम कर रही है, और डर हर दिल को जकड़ रहा है।

लेकिन हम, जो यीशु के अनुयायी हैं, हमें इस संसार से अलग जीना है —

किसी बड़े शोर से नहीं,

बल्कि गहरी शांति के साथ।

जब तूफ़ान उठे, तब लोगों को आपके भीतर ऐसा ठहराव दिखे जो इस दुनिया में नहीं मिलता।

जब बाकी लोग डर से टूट रहे हों,

आपके जीवन में ऐसी शांति दिखे जो यह घोषित करे:

“मेरा भरोसा संसार पर नहीं, जीवित परमेश्वर पर है।”
