As ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we carry an incredible responsibility to reflect His love, grace, sacrifice, and divine purpose in our lives. When our walk aligns with HIS heart, we become a living testament, a beacon that draws people toward the Kingdom. But if our life fails to embody HIS essence, we risk living in vain—saved by HIS grace, yet bearing no fruit, as Paul writes:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto GOD, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD” (Romans 12:1-2).
The challenge here is twofold. Firstly, the purpose of our salvation is not merely our rescue from sin, but to glorify GOD through every aspect of our life. A Life Void of Christ’s Reflection
In the parable of the fig tree (Luke 13:6-9), Jesus tells a story of a tree planted in a vineyard that bore no fruit for three years. The owner wished to cut it down, saying, “Why should it use up the soil?” But the gardener interceded, asking for more time to tend it in hopes it might bear fruit.
This is a solemn warning. A life that bears no spiritual fruit is like the barren fig tree—taking up space but producing nothing for the Kingdom. We can be saved, yet ineffective, if our lives fail to reflect Jesus. This spiritual barrenness can make us feel hollow, despite our salvation, because our ultimate purpose is to draw others to CHRIST.
Reflecting Christ’s Love
The foundation of our witness is love, for “GOD is love” (1 John 4:8). Jesus declared the two greatest commandments as love for GOD and love for others (Matthew 22:37-39). Without this love, all our actions, no matter how grand, are meaningless. Paul powerfully captures this truth in 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, where he says:
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”
Without love, we cannot truly reflect Christ, and without HIS reflection, we cannot gather people to HIM. People are drawn to Jesus by HIS grace and compassion, not through harsh judgment or selfish gain.
Reflecting Christ’s Grace and Forgiveness
Christ’s grace is a testimony in itself. We are saved by grace, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). His grace should flow through us in how we deal with others. Consider the story of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11). The Pharisees wanted to stone her, but Jesus responded with grace, challenging those without sin to cast the first stone. When none did, HE forgave her and said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

The Holy Spirit: Our Guide to Reflection

Without Jesus, our efforts are in vain. But if we remain in HIM, allowing HIS love, grace, and Spirit to flow through us, we will see a life filled with meaning, purpose, and impact—a life that draws others to the saving grace of our Lord.

To be saved by grace is a gift, but to reflect the grace and love of Jesus is our calling.
